The Swiss Path

Weather forecast was moderate and so was reality. Overcast all day and scattered showers in the evening.

We took the boat to Bauen at 9pm and hiked part of the Swiss Path. A hiking trail around the "Urnersee" (part of the Vierwaldstaettersee) which was built and paid by all cantons for the 700 years of Switzerland festivities 25 years ago.

We walked first 2.5hours upwards from Bauen (blip shows the view towards Brunnen and Mythen) to Seelisberg (lunch) and down to Emmetten, then bus to Beckenried (fresh apple pie) and steam paddler back to Vitznau. It stayed dry all day and only started drizzling when we were safely on our boat ride back to the hotel at 6pm.

Swimming in the lake and a sauna later tonight and room service to have a snack on the terrace while it is getting dark.

Some more information in the website:

After 25 years, it is safe to say that the over 5 million visitors in the Lake Uri region constitute an economic revenue of over 200 million Swiss francs.
Consequently, the investment for constructing the hiking trail on Lake Uri was more than worth it.....
