Day 1: Taking the Mickey

It feels like days ago that we left home but it was actually 8 o'clock this morning. We had a good run down to Dover then a 90 min wait for our ferry. We were pretty lucky given the situation last week that our ferry was only 15 mins late departing. It felt a bit choppier then I remember but as the crossing was only just over an hour in total, I reckon the captain must have put his foot down to try and make some time up.
A couple of hours later we arrived at our hotel, just outside Disney. This was a surprise to Poppy as she had no idea this was where we were going. When she saw the tops of the Disney buildings in the distance she said 'I think that's Disneyland over there. Oh no, it must be where they make the stuff for Disney'.
When we broke the news that were going to spend the next 2 days there she couldn't believe it. I think the conversation went
'So we're staying at a Disney hotel for 2 nights & spending 2 days at the park'
'Are we actually?'
'Yes'
'But are we actually?'
'Yes!'
'But are we actually??'
'Yes we actually are'

I think she believes it now.
We caught the bus over to the Disney village this evening and ate at Planet Hollywood. The children are shattered and have gone to the room to get ready for bed while D and I sit in the bar with a glass of wine and are doing our blips.
