Grüne Stinkwanze

Or Green Shield Bug if you'd like the English name. This little chap was not interested in posing for photographs, he was far more interested in scuttling hither and yon. When I found out the German name for this kind of bug he had to be today's Blip.

I was out at the City Of Bears today to cut the lawn football pitch sized meadow. It was all going really well until I misunderstood the rules about the midday break. In the City Of Bears you have to have a break from noisy work from 1 to 3 . I thought I meant I could have a break at 1 and start again when I wanted. Nope. Between 1 & 3, you have to switch all your noisy machinery off. I was gently informed of my failure after about 10 minutes.

Somehwat chastened I sat down and read the local paper - the Wiesbaden Kurier. That furnished me with a very interesting story about the guy who used to run Kloster Eberbach. For a man who had such a responsible job, he was a total @rsch. He stole 31,000 Euro from there. Is your life worth ruining for such a petty sum? I don't think so. However, he wasn't done yet. He was also involved in the CDU here, broadly similar to the Conservative party in Britain, he also "borrowed" a bit of money from
them. Oh and he also used the party credit card to pay his brothel bills. He is no longer in charge of anything.

After such scurrilous entertainment, I returned to the fray and mowed more grass than I care to think about. The rewards were a rather lovely bit of cake, a bucket of tea & dinner at Die Sonne. A rather good day.
