The Judging Ring - Kintyre Show

Was at the Kintyre Show today and despite the great difficulties in the diary sector there were still quite a number of local dairy farmers keen to show their cattle and to win prizes.   

The care and the pride is evident in the parade into and round the judging ring.  This is John Smith, a larger scale diary farmer near Campbeltown and I caught the picture during a very tense session when every exhibitor was trying to show off their beast at its best.   The threatening rain behind just seem to offset the occasion though in fact the downpour didn't happen until after we had left - we caught it driving up through Kintyre.

These local agricultural shows are great occasions and there is lots to see. Unusually  have added three additional pictures - a Clydesdale horse after it had been in the ring, a Chevy pick up from the vehicle competition (though only tractors could win) and  The Clan who were putting on a clever and entertaining bike stunt show which was very well received.
