The Bride's Bouquet
It was my niece's wedding today and a lovely day it was too. The sun shone all the way from the registry office through to the evening do. It was a much more relaxed event than a lot of the weddings I've been to in the last twenty years, almost back to the style of weddings I went to when I was a child. The reception was a picnic in the grounds of the local village hall with lots of things for the kids to play like a coconut shy, space hoppers, jenga, bouncy castle etc. There was ice cream, milkshakes, and sweets and a lovely time was had by all, kids and adults alike. It was also lovely to catch up with my five siblings, nephews and nieces and their children too. All the things in the bride's bouquet have a meaning to her, for example the iris is for my mum who is no longer with us.
