In Search of Small Mammals

Attended an excellent workshop this morning - all about small mammals - and the early start included seeing what had turned up in a series of traps that had been put out overnight.  We recovered several voles (including the one shown) plus a couple of shrews. 

The shrews were both very active and a real handful (literally) to hold on to - the voles were much more relaxed about the whole business.
