Archive?

Back in the good old days I used to regularly burn photographs onto DVD as my long term archive plan. 

Then the pictures got bigger and the DVDs didn't, and then they stopped selling laptops without DVD drives at all, and DVD-rot is a problem anyway.  

So now it's all either in the cloud or one several of the increasingly large collection of increasingly large external hard drives, and it's time to jettison the collection of DVDs that have been gathering dust for a long time.
