Sandstone and Siltstone
3 or the 4 sailboats here left midday.....I got to spend some time in the studio (the saturday opera was Wagner's Meistersingers). Until the woman in the 4th sailboat came to get me to see what these 2 people were doing roaming our beach. So we went to talk to them. Rebecca and Ben are college student geologists.. Writing about the geology of these islands. Very intricate diagrams of the sandstone based on the size of the sand particles recording 8 small sizes.. And smaller than that is siltstone. ( silt that has hardened) And a lot of loose rocks dropped there by glaciers. They were cute but I suspect we will never see their thesis. This is the rock on our point..at low tide ..the queen of England owns the land up to the high tide..so anyone can be there...
