Hello.....

.....Welcome to the Alternative Olympic Games (AOG) Magpie Mixed 1500m, the first ever mixed event in this category. 

The course is clear with a slight southerly airflow drifting through, 8C with sunny skies.

Amongst the competitors today is Harry, the jumper, who gave others a good run for their money but decided the 1500m suited his wing span. 
 
Coming down the final stretch of the Magpie Mixed 1500m we have, Anika from NZ with Harry from Australia hot on her heels, and Lowanna also from Australia in third place looking a bit tired.  Just off the shot is Aria from NZ who is swiftly picking up her pace, a good one to watch out for. 
 
Harry is striding it out, look at that wing span while Anika is holding her own with the end in sight, but.....hang on a minute, Harry has quickened his flight and has almost caught her up.
 
The crowd is chanting here on the ground, 'Kiwi, Kiwi, Kiwi', as we commentators grab our binoculars, all eyes are turned upwards but.....just a minute, am I seeing right.....'Beckett, Harry's landing gear is down, what'?!
 
And then the unforgiveable.......there's a mid-air attack, well it's hardly a collision!! The crowd is gasping and booing!! Shady Harry has decided enough is enough, if he can't win why not have some fun eh, well it is spring! Or is this team tactics?! 
 
Anika is completely thrown off course, while Lowanna can't keep up with the pace of Aria who fly buys to steal the gold for New Zealand - unbelievable!!
 
The crowd is ecstatic, what a way to end this event.....Gold for New Zealand, Silver for Australia......and Harry and Anika, well they flew off together, lovebirds that they are........
 
The Magpie Mixed 1500m maybe the first and last of this event.
