Drip Drop
Had one of several recurring conversations with my daughter while in the car today. As a little background, she has a definite preference for wearing dresses. We try to get her to wear long pants when the weather is cold, but she still isn't convinced they're right for her.
"Mama, do real princesses wear long pants?"
(Wracking brain and coming up with a vague memory of Princess Diana in slacks) "They most certainly do!"
"Mama, do real princesses drive cars?"
"I think they usually have drivers, someone who drives them around. They get to sit in the back and ride." (I'm thinking, 'Well, except for Princess Grace, may she rest in peace.')
"Mama, are you a real princess?"
"What do you think?" (Smiling - surely she considers me a princess!)
Pause. "I think you're a driver."
Steady rain for three days straight. I don't know what kind of berries these are, but they're the only spots of color I've seen outdoors for the past several days. Thank goodness for the colorful droplets of conversation.
