Another grand day out; cycling on Romney Marsh. A 34 mile circuit of the (flat) country lanes of the Marsh on a sparkling summer's day with what passes for a zepher of a breeze for the Marsh.

Called in at Lathe Barn on Donkey Street for the pre-ride coffee and tea cake, then followed our noses around and through villages and isolated settlements ending up at New Romney station on the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway for tea and sandwiches to watch the trains coming and going.

In this shot Hurricane has just come off the train from Dungeness and is making its way back to the shed at the end of its diagram. Meanwhile, Sir Winston Churchill which took over the train is seen leaving  for Hythe.

From New Romney we cycled around 6 or so miles along the top of the coastal defences past St Mary's Bay and Dymchurch with the tide up and the wind in our favour, one of our favourite stretches of rides in the county back to the car park in West Hythe.

The day ended at Botolph's Bridge Inn nearby where we indulged in a great plate of fish and chips.

The extras today are of Tar Pot Lane on the Royal Millitary Canal at the foot of the North Downs and the start of the coastal ride to Dymchurch and beyond.
