The Fisher King

Wild Wednesday: Kingfisher

I went looking for dragonflies, and saw several, but none that were prepared to stay still for long enough for me to be able to photograph them.  I also saw the local heron, a pair of fishing cormorants and a wren, but my afternoon was made when I came across this little fellow.  This is as close as I was able to get (it is a heavily cropped shot), but its still the first time I have ever managed to take a photo of a kingfisher, so I am delighted :-) 

This is a quick upload, as it is my sister Janet's birthday, and her wedding anniversary and we need to go and help her and Incredibish celebrate.
