Gently down the stream

Birthday lunch

This was my birthday lunch today at the Royal Oak in Fritham.  The Royal Oak - sometimes known as the unofficial parliament of the New Forest - is a wonderful little half-thatched pub on a farm at the end of a narrow lane going nowhere.  Even midweek it gets huge numbers of people, most of them attached to dogs.  Sometimes ponies (and in autumn pigs) wander into the garden.  Mercifully today the 10 or so ponies swirling around stayed on the small green outside.

Here you can see my son, sis, my son's partner and my daughter.  You will also notice who was the real centre of attention.  Duke is now something like 3+ months and growing fast.  He's unbearably cute and pretty well behaved for such a young fella.  I've put a colour shot of him in extras for those of you who would like to check his progress!

Thanks so much for all your birthday wishes.  Yes, it's been a brilliant day :))  xx
