Diary of an Edinburgher

Knees!

JR's birthday today, so breakfast in bed and a phone call from NZ replaced her normal gym visit. Then we had a drive out to our favourite Country House Hotel for lunch. We went there just before I had my knee done...

You know how you go somewhere and have a great meal and then go back and the chef must have a day off or something? Well that was us today. The meal and the service were not as good. And I just could not get comfortable, so I doubt I would have enjoyed it much anyway.

Archie went to spend the day with Rufus and his mum. All went well, and we even got some photos of them both snoozing on the same sofa! Though Rufus did look rather more relaxed than Archie, who probably had one eye on him. Rufus has wee steps to get up on to this sofa, so it was quite brave of Archie. Or silly.

I am finding it slow going in the knee recovery department. Bending it has not improved at all since I was in hospital. And having my leg flat out is painful too, but I know it's very important to be able to do this. Archie always comes to sit on me, sometimes this is good, because I will stay in that (painful) position for longer than usual in order not to disturb Arch.

I thought this shot of Andy's and my knees was most appropriate. His knees are working well, thank goodness. So are Archie's.
