Before & After Part 2....
Hereby hangs a tale....
The bottom picture is the last shot I took with my previous Canon EOS D6 just before tipping into the self same rock pool and wetting both camera and lens as well as soaking myself. Despite trying to dry everything out immediately afterwards , a trip to the repair shop showed that both camera and lens were a write-off. The real irony is that every other shot taken that day was on the tripod and I fell as I was crouched down and leaning too far to the right in order to compose the picture. Hand-holders beware !!
The other picture of the tree at the far end of the paddock behind our house was the first one taken on my replacement camera. Fortunately the camera was fully insured and could be replaced quite easily but the lens was not. It still has some functionality and could be used manually but will need replacing eventually as it is the lens I use most commonly. It is a canon 24-105 f4. lens supposedly indestructible and often called the 'rock' because of its ability to cope with hard knocks but that certainly does not include swimming in sea water.
