Pop-up

I'd been intending to go to the match at Easter Rd today, being Dunfermline's first away fixture of the season, but got a text from some old friends saying "We're in Edinburgh for the weekend, are you around to meet up for a coffee?" Hadn't seen them for 10 years or so, so wanted to catch up, but of course they only had a mid-afternoon window between shows. So I left Mr H with the Pars supporters outside the Brass Monkey and went up to meet my pals at Black Medicine on South Bridge, pausing briefly at Stewart Bremner's pop-up stall at the Tardis. He seemed to be doing a brisk trade - I bought a declaration of Arbroath (in Scots, natch) and a bargain pack of assorted postcards.

Sami and Emily were in good form and it was great to catch up, if only for a short time.Their three daughters were all somewhere in Edinburgh attending various fringe events. The centre of town was completely stowed with folk - it was very hard to make any progress at all walking along the pavements. I fled back to Leith.
