The Flock

We went up to the allotment for a couple of hours clipping, digging and weeding - and of course, filled up the bird feeder. There's evidently a new gang in the 'hood (presumably this years crop), who descended in a vast fluttering horde when they saw the seed and then kept taking fright and leaving again whenever either of us moved too close for their liking. It's better that they're flighty and nervous, though, given the number of local cats. It's nice to see spudgers thriving again.

I couldn't get a decent photo because they were so nervy and moved so fast - but chose the one that seemed to have the maximum number in. You're welcome to try counting!
