Today's cricket was shite. Shite in that we lost. The guys who turned up to prevent a call-off were brilliant and I love them.

As a salve to the bitter taste of defeat, Jon Golding and I went to watch the Lairy Fairies at Stroud Brewery.

The inimitable Jamie Evans contributed to a night of rare humour.

It was one of those nights one remembers fondly, if a little hazily. Goodnight.
