Flying North - York to Carlisle
It was a father and daughter day today.
We set off early and headed for Leeds Station to board "The Waverley".
In vintage carriages, we were transported to York where the diesel locomotive was replaced by the newly restored "Flying Scotsman" No 60103.
Under steam power we were transported to Carlisle where the train stopped for a couple of hours before taking us back to York and Leeds.
A long round-trip (13 hours in total) but a fantastic experience with plenty of blip opportunities.
Here is Harriet at the start of the journey on platform 9 at York Station this morning and the extra, again at York, at near the end of the trip at 10:30 pm this evening.
