Dragonfly

This dragonfly was sitting on the wooden handrail for long enough for David and myself to take a few photos. Lots of insects around today as the weather had warmed up so much that they were all enjoying the sunshine.
A few butterflies around and the buddleia is in full bloom. I have a deep purple, a lilac colour and a white one so seeing as the forecast is good for the next few days hopefully a few more will appear.
You may not realise just how vicious dragonflies can be but the extra photo might give you a clue, taken a few years ago on the Isle of Rum.
