Mono Monday: Sound

A walk around a large site, with lots of dereliction, this morning.

Up to a few years ago, at 11 am, there would have been plenty of sound, with human activity and comings and goings. Today, all was quiet, save for the clicking of robins and the piping of a nuthatch.

Summer has arrived so we took ourselves to Dunham this evening. The sounds of green woodpeckers, jackdaws, canada geese, coots, tawny owls and - if I had been able to hear high frequencies - noctule bats flitting fast over the ponds. The extra is the waxing moon reflected in a pond.
