Kings Mural

It seems to me that Kingston has a slightly weird attitude to public works of art. This rather splendid mural by Maggie Humphry, which depicts the seven Saxon kings crowned in the town during the 10th century, has somehow ended up on the blank and uninspiring wall of a now defunct department store on a stretch of road that sees relatively little pedestrian traffic. Surely space could have been found for it either in the fully pedestrianised market square or close to All Saints Church which was the site of the coronations so that more people would be able to appreciate it.  (looks much better when viewed in full screen)
