Life's Little Moments

A stunning day at the AOG

On this final day of Alternative Olympic medal events, it was a day to remember!  There was so much going on in the Stadium, in spite of sweltering heat, that I decided to do a collage - something I usually avoid.  But records were set and these star athletes need to be acknowledged!  So starting at top left and working clockwise...

Team Hummingbird Clearwing finally showed up  and pulled off a Gold in the Singles Nectar Snogging.  The bees are in a snit now and talking of boycotting the next AOG...but I think we all know they'll be back, and stronger than ever.

Next up was an amazing event from Team Monarch Caterpillar.  Seventeen of their largest athletes performed a Group Chrysalis Transition - an AOG first!  They all started out in the classic "J" formation, seen here and then, one after the other they changed into their Chrysalis form.  People in the audience were on their feet the entire time, some moved to tears by the astonishing accomplishment.

Next up was Team Hummie winning the Aerial Nectaring event - no one was even close.  They immediately commenced partying and I'm sorry to say that some of the athletes may have overdone it a bit with the sugar-water..  Words were exchanged and there was some pushing and shoving...

Next up was Pairs Nectaring and the Gold went to Team Eastern Tiger Swallowtail who showed superb control and poise throughout the routine.  And after it was over, to a standing ovation from the crowd, they performed an incredible salsa in the garden

I am sorry to report that Team Chippie's star, Scooby, totally lost focus during the Seed Eating event and was seen farting around in the foliage acting like he'd been drinking.  No medals for TC this time, unless they pull off some sort of miracle before the Closing Ceremonies tomorrow.

And speaking of Closing Ceremonies, Team Hummie allowed me to watch them practice their Lantana Tango - just a glimpse, mind you, enough to pique my interest.

As always, you can find today's fabulous, funny and entertaining reports at #AOG20.  And do be sure to check in tomorrow to see the Closing Ceremonies from around the world - it is sure to be a most incredible event!

Thanks for stopping by...
