Wild Blueberry Pie Eating Contest

We've spent the day at the Machias Wild Blueberry Festival. The weather was great after a foggy start. The festival kicks off with the blueberry pie eating contest which is so much fun. We checked out all the crafters and vendors, listened to live music, and walked over to Bad Little Falls Park, the scene of tonight's 11th Annual Blackfly Ball. Here's a shot from last year.  

The sunset was so lovely last night, and a trio of herons were having their evening fishing fun as well as darkness fell. It's so beautiful along the tidal Machias River, we're very lucky to be enjoying this old family house year after year.

For the Record,
This day came in foggy and cool, the sun burned off the fog and it warmed up quickly.
