FlowerFriday19 Purple Loosestrife
Today is my usual busy Friday with my alternative flower, Violet who can be seen here.
I was lucky enough to have help today from Son and Daughter #1. Although the weather was grey and much cooler, with frequent showers, we decided to go out to Connaught Water to introduce Violet to feeding the ducks and geese with (suitable) food which she did with great enthusiasm. Half way round the heavens opened and we had to dash back to the car, Violet safe in her covered buggy of course.
I took very few shots but managed a couple of the Purple Loosestrife, shown here, still looking cheerful as it waved in the breeze, although nearing the end of its flowering season.
I had hoped to find rather more AOG related activity at this splendid lake, but there wasn't a great deal going on. All insect life seemed to be hiding from the weather and the water fowl, more concerned with feeding. There was one elegant display of wing stretching from Team Swan though, which you can see in extras. They refused to come any nearer to us when they realised that we had only brought healthy suitable food rather than dry bread; a disappointing attitude from would be Olympic champions.
