George's Head, Sydney

Today, our last full day in Australia, we packed a picnic lunch and headed out to the George's Head Lookout in Sydney harbour, where there are the gun emplacements which formed part of the defences in the early days of settlement. There are 2 cannons in place, aimed towards the harbour entrance between North & South Heads. The emplacements are marked 'VR 1871'
