Pulling mussels from a shell

Back in Vagnas and last night the hotel owners Gus and Caroline asked us to join them and their two children Scott and Eva for moulles et frites (mussels and fries) which we gladly accepted but Di had an omelette as she doesn't eat mussels. 6kg of mussels were eaten. Sounds a lot, but most of that is shell.

Di counted 15 mosquito bites on her legs last night, that is s lot and I think I may be partly to blame. You see I was woken at 01;30 the previous night by a mosquito buzzing around my head and after several failed attempts to swat it left the bedroom, closed the door and slept on the sofa, leaving the creature only one source of protein to gorge on, Diana.
