Contrast and Pattern
18C feeling warm and humid, mostly cloudy with a slight breeze.
Olympic super Saturday became super Sunday.
Second fastest ever 100m ... glad to have witnessed that !
Since heavy showers were forecast Maeve the Deerhound and I set off early for our walk while it was still dry. All quiet on the bridle path, but when we got down to the shore road and across the level crossing, and all round our walk we kept meeting people with dogs. We are wondering if this is when they all go for their walks.
Quietest place was the Fishermen's huts at Westhaven. When we got there no one was around and I got a chance to have a look round the tractor that is being restored for blip possibilities. All the wheels have been put on since yesterday. I took some more pictures and today's blue blip is the front grille which has a good strong pattern and like the other blue tractors it is painted with this rather startling contrast orangey red colour :-)
Before we left there was some activity, with two men arriving in a car and beginning to discuss what they would do with the boat that was splashed with oil yesterday. It was noticeably cleaner today! The Fisherman I see out at sea most, in the "Valhalla", was shouting to an older man that he was heading out this afternoon to try for Mackerel as he started up his red tractor and headed down to the beach. Tide was out this morning so he will be looking for the Mackerel on the rising tide as they come in chasing the small fish that they hunt.
Maeve and I didn't get wet. There has been a shower since lunch and I expect there will be more.
