Another scorcher

Today was another scorching hot day so I had planned to take Thomas swimming at the club - Adam is away and Luke is working all week so Thomas was getting a bit bored without them. However, those plans went pear shaped when late last night he spilt water all over his laptop.....

First thing this morning I was trying to find an IT specialist who could rescue his laptop and hopefully save his data, as of course he does not have a backup. There were some important things on there like his GCSE music composition and other course work. I found someone online who came highly recommended so off we went - he was very helpful and he managed to open up the laptop to get out the hard drive. We were there for a few hours, and the day was getting hotter and hotter, and all I could think about was sitting in the shade and having a cool drink. We eventually got home after lunch, and I did take Thomas for a quick swim - this is the view looking on the golf course at the club. Not surprisingly there were not many golfers today in this heat.

Later on we went back to the IT specialist and he had good news and bad news for us - his laptop was kaput, beyond recovery, but he had managed to retrieve the data (after 7 attempts of different methods, so well done to him for not giving up). Gavin is bringing home his old laptop from the office and then we will go back there tomorrow and he will load the data on that as Thomas needs a laptop for school.

I have had a headache all day...I wonder why!

Last night I watched The Dressmaker on TV, an Australian movie that is a bit bonkers but I really enjoyed it - Kate Winslet as you have never seen her before.
