Convergent evolution
The Americas get Hummingbirds, we get Hummingbird Hawk-moths. I think the Americas won but these little moths aren't a bad substitute. With wings whirring at over 50 beats a second, I give no apologies for the blur there. This one was loving the lavender and feeding madly off the nectar - you can just see the extended tongue - but frustratingly swapping flowers about every second. Thirty odd photos, many of an out of focus lavender flower only, and this was the best of the bunch.
Otherwise lots of tidying and preparation for H&J arriving in the evening.
