Bronze Age ring ditch discovered...

They've started to do the archaeological survey of one of the sites earmarked for housing development in Linton.  And guess what... they have discovered a Bronze Age ring ditch in the corner of the field.  My photo is of a section of the ditch.

I spoke to a lovely lady, Louise from Oxford Archaeology who have been retained to do the survey, she said that there was nothing that she had seen that could possibly provide sufficient grounds to interfere with the development.

The ring ditch is interesting but not in any way notable... The extra photo is of a sample of the flint chipping that have found their way into the ditch.
