Nearly Done.
This weekend the trains from Waverley heading south to englandshire will be full of mimes, unfunny comedians, disillusioned penniless actors, flaming jugglers (smelling of paraffin), and rather well off professional Romanian beggars. The Edinburgh Fringe draws to a close soon, only three days to go. Experts estimate that in the past three weeks nearly three and a quarter trillion flyers were handed out (then promptly abandoned). Never has a city before had so many show-offs, wannabees, never-willbees, has-beens and maybe, just maybe, a few stars of the future.
They have selected the funniest joke of the festival. It so lacking in mirth I shall not trouble you with it.
“But did you enjoy it all?” you ask. Of course I did, Embra was a-buzz.
Blippers were everywhere, they were like bears in a feeding frenzy during a salmon run. Next week will seem like a photo opportunity desert - we will all have to return to photographing what we are having for dinner, shots of the cats or funny shaped vegetables. (you know who you all are!)
Normality beckons soon. Have a good weekend.
