Great Scottish Swim

This is the sign we were met with on our route from the car park to the change tents before my friend C and I took to the freezing* water of Loch Lomond for our second organised open water swim of the year.

Reassuring eh?!!

We had a blast of a day, swimming a mile in the beautiful surroundings of The Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. While others around us had their heads in the water and their minds set on the finish line, we took a slightly different approach; chatting to the life saver paddlers and watching the birds in the sky in between bouts of dedicated front crawling.

Later, back home in Dundee, my dad made us a lovely curry and then we had celebratory cocktails in the dca to end a happy day.



* it was actually 16.5 deg so all in all, quite balmy. Some of the fast swimmers said it was too warm though I wouldn't go as far as to say nonsense like that!r
