Van with a view

We had a busy morning working out what to take in the van for its first couple of nights away, then packing the van. We also got the bikes on the back, and after lunch drove a mere 36 miles NE to the coast.

We are on a nice little site - this is the view looking towards the sea and Holy Island. (Lindisfarne). Tomorrow we have to be up early to get going on the bikes over to the island - there is a causeway which gets cut off at high tide. Further south we can also see Bamburgh Castle. After the hectic few weeks we've had with the festival and childminding it's lovely to just be here with nothing to do except read my book and get a meal going. I'm making an aubergine, mushroom and chickpea curry as that was what we had in the fridge st home.

Tomorrow my cousin is coming with his caravan. He is a UKIP supporter and a Brexiteer but his wife doesn't allow us to discuss politics. Despite those impediments he is a nice man. We'll go for a walk along the coast of the weather stays fine.

Mr C is fretting because he feels he should be slashing and burning in the garden.
