A day of 3 halves.

What a looooong day... We were at the boat station by 2,30am...eventually boarded (all 14 of us!) by 4am... We found a quiet sofa in the café (as did a few others) & stretched out to sleep...by 6 we'do finally dropped off, by 7 we were woken by lots of people coming for breakfast. The boat had apparently started in Valencia... It was quite disorienting to wake to lots of people & activity... By 8 we were driving off and into Palma. We found THE most wonderful breakfast place with a sea view...lots of food options and good prices, just what we needed after an all nighter!
By 9,30 we were at the aquarium! We'd pre booked tickets including a shark boat trip! It was all absolutely fantastic...such a variety of sea life...so much to see! Asha was in her element! I've added an aquarium pic here. We also did the unthinkable & bought one of those official pics they take of you as you walk in! Made us feel like real tourists! And courtesy of the gift shop, Asha is now the proud owner of a cuddly parrot, 'Petra Parrot' to be specific...clearly Brewer family inspired. ;-)
At 2 we were able to come to the house...it's just perfect! Miles from anywhere, down tiny lanes, surrounded by land full of almond trees. All we can hear are chickens, goats and sheep (& now cicadas!)...The owner has been fantastically hospitable & left all sorts of food & toiletries! Within no time Asha was in the pool (as was I!) and declaring it the perfect home.
A chilled afternoon and a walk along the lane at sunset....

Wow, we are tired! The perfect day marred only by a bloomin' headache!

Today I'm grateful for;
1) Such a smooth journey - the whole thing has been great.
2) The spectacle of the aquarium - it felt like SUCH a treat! Thanks to Elizabethann for the brilliant recommendation.
3) The prospect of a week in the countryside....oh the joy at hearing the crowings and bleatings, the bells and the cicadas! Love the sounds of the countryside!
