Exposición d'arte

Today we had friends over who we know from our Guildford time. They're on the island for a few days... Other than a day long headache, it was so good to see them! We nattered the hours away, went for a drink, ate, and then later went to Asha's art exhibition at D-Nens. They couldn't organise the art gallery thing, so decided to put on their own exhibition - it was amazing! They made the room look incredible & displayed the art really well, they had lovely snacks, and then each kid gave a few lines about each of the artists they'd studied. I chose this pic as my blip because I so loved Asha's picture & title - she's called it "love for my brother Nate".

Drama of the day;
The really sad news that D-Nens is closing down. I feel gutted...it's been such a wonderful place for Asha...but the 2 women who run it are shattered and each have about 2 full-time jobs and studying too, and they can't sustain it all.

Today I'm grateful for;
1) Seeing Lilli & Dan and catching up on the last couple of years!
2) Neighbours. I've had some happy & some sad chats with neighbours today (an 82 year old neighbour who in the last 4 weeks has buried her nephew and her sister and is nursing her other sister through an illness). I feel grateful that i live somewhere where people really talk.
3) D-Nens...it's been such an important place in shaping Asha and in helping her become a more confident person. In the early days of living in Ibiza it was where Asha began learning Spanish and Catalan, made her first friends, learnt how to be apart from us etc etc... We will miss it.
