A Visit To The Library
Mom loves to read but it's very difficult for her to get to the local Conrad Joyner-Green Valley Library (one of Pima County's finest). It's quite close to her house but she has to carry her oxygen tank with her. She cannot be without her purse for some reason, either. Maybe it's an old person thing. Having her hands full makes it hard for her to survey the shelves and would make carrying books impossible.
I guess she was out of things to read but didn'twant to ask me totake her - she thinks I do too many things for her already and doesn't want to be a burden. I tell her that's all hogwash. So off to the library we went. She can only read the large print books and fortunately, the library knows that there is a high demand in our "older" community for those.
While she was looking for books, I held her oxygen and purse for her. She came away happy with two James Patterson books, her favorite author. A successful day.
