Context

A laugh? A cry? Pain and suffering?

Because I was there I know. And because I know of this child I'm also aware that she has experienced all of the above.

Studying this picture I'm reminded that I need to make fewer snap judgments based on a glimpse, a flicker in time. I need to step back, sometimes, and let the scene unfold more before I become too opinionated.

Putting this into practice in recent months has been rewarding.
