Gol Stave Church Museum
We arrived in Minot, ND this afternoon. Many Scandinavian people immigrated to North Dakota, Michigan and other northern U.S. States. Minot has a lovely Scandinavian Heritage Park and this stave church is one of its buildings. This church is "a full-size replica of the Gol Stave Church which was moved from Gol, Hallingdal to the Folk Museum in Bygdoy Park in Oslo, Norway about 100 years ago." Our docent gave us an interesting history of how each part of the church's interior related to our Christian faith. So glad we had this experience.
Earlier, we visited the frontier village and National Buffalo Museum in Jamestown, ND. We saw a herd of buffalo including White Cloud, a rare albino buffalo. We learned about the legend of the White Buffalo Calf Woman. Look it up.
