Heron

We wanted to get to near Amsterdam so we set off after getting some stuff in a supermarket you can’t get in Scotland. We got on the autobahn, but the wrong way and decided to go to Oldenburg the scenic way. It involved a ferry across the Weser that was cheap at under 5 euros and we saw bits of Germany that we wouldn’t otherwise have seen. We decided to go over the Afsluitdijk that created the IJsselmeer as we’d never been there and it’s an amazing feat of engineering. The extra is taken at the mid-point and shows a couple of French people rollerblading. Only the French woukd do something that wacky and elegant. The blip is a heron at sunset near the stellplatz at Middenmeer where we stayed. It was ten Euros for the night with great facilities. As Holland is flat we went off cycling in the evening and got the blip.
