Grasshopper

One of the things I had not thought I'd be doing on holiday is scouring the internet trying to identify varieties of invertebrate. I think we're agreed this is a Grasshopper (though most, but not all, varieties have antennae shorter than their bodies). We just can't identify precisely which Grasshopper this is.

However, along the way I have discovered that Italy, because of its location, has one of the highest levels of faunal biodiversity in Europe, with over 57,000 recorded species. Catching this little devil involved lots of crawling about in Umbria's floral biodiversity, most of which was very jaggy.
