Underneath the Spreading Chestnut Tree..*

.. There is a juvenile robin sheltering from a downpour (which has persisted all day, or I'd have nipped out for another, more interesting, capture).

The squirrel saga continues, in that they have removed the lid from the squirrel-proof feeder (as other blippers had predicted might happen!).Himself is devising ways of preventing them from stealing the bird food. I'll keep you posted, many have tried before him!

I am having a rainy day of computer drudgery. It's my own fault. I have filled up (I know.. I'm a disgrace..) ALL the available space with photographs (most blurred, many duplicated bees and butterflies and so few worth keeping). But once viewed it's such a bore to go through and delete (izzit me?)..
I vow to be more disciplined in future, but I have a looong way to go before there's enough space for my usual fun!
(Insult to injury, the SD card(s) are full too.. So there's absolutely no escape from the chore of clearing.
Shan't I feel better though, when it's done?)

* My Grandfather used to sing this old song to me. He played the piano and apparently, after a weekly visit to the music hall used to come home and play (by ear) the songs he had heard. (I am not old enough to remember him doing that, but there were songs that he recalled in his old age, like this one. 'Yes, we have no bananas',  'Mary Ellen at the Church Turned Up', and 'Berlington Bertie' were other favourites. They made their own entertainment in those days.
What would he have made of t'internet I wonder?).
