A haven for bees
A border of lavender in the town centre at Romsey is a picture this time of year and I take delight in walking by it several times a week.
Lavender of course has many uses from fragrances you’ll find in the bathroom to antiseptics and might even be used in cooking.
But this border is primarily decorative . . . and a haven for every bee in the area it seems.
Look closely and you’ll find the extensive bed of lavender blooms is alive with them.
Apparently the flowers are rich with nectar from which the bees make a high quality and much sought after honey.
Trying to capture then for a Blipfoto today wasn’t easy, but look closely and you should be able to make them out.
