Dry Garden
This garden at Southern Water’s Testwood Lakes is designed to be water efficient and to encourage visitors to cut back on the use of water to keep gardens at their prime during the summer.
The water authority which runs the lakes and the accompanying wildlife reserve in partnership with Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust, planted this garden near its information centre overlooking the lakes.
It says the garden is intended to illustrate that you can choose plants and shrubs which will survive on natural watering alone from rain yet still produce a colourful and interesting garden even in the height of hot and dry summers.
