Bannockburn House
Colin and I had a fantastic afternoon visiting this fabulous seventeenth century house which is currently on the market. The community in Bannockburn had negotiated access for the weekend from the current owner. An army of volunteers has spent the last few weeks cleaning up the house and the garden. The house is a listed building and is famous for its links to the Jacobite cause as Bonnie Prince Charlie stayed there during the 1745 rebellion. It was also the house where he first met Clementina Walkinshaw who later became his mistress and mother of his daughter Charlotte. A truly fascinating place!
