Popped over to the market in the morning then got a bus up to Nicholson Square to visit the allotment show - first time it's been staged for a number of years. There weren't many entries - none at all in some categories. If we'd only entered a couple of these instead of eating them, we'd have won a first in the loose-leaf lettuce section as there were no other entries! As it was our next-door-but one allotment neighbours Fi and Archie deservedly cleaned up, winning 6 prizes in all including a couple of firsts. I think this cabbage was the only entry in the heaviest cabbage section, but it was pretty huge.

Then in the evening over to the Thomas Morton hall for a very jolly wedding party - the archaeologists were out in force. It was much more enjoyable than being there for the usual reason!
