1940's Weekend
Today was the annual 1940's weekend at the Milton Keynes Museum. They had a replica Spitfire which they started up periodically (a great sound), Mr Churchill inspected the troops and gave one of his rousing speeches, the Home Guard marched and the RAF officer in the picture talked about the Battle of Britain. Lots of visitors also dressed up, which was lovely to see (but G, I'd only do it if I could be a Land Girl!). Good fun and a nice way to raise money for the museum, which is set to expand considerably in 2017. One part will focus on the area from the Stone Age, through the Roman era, to the Wars of the Roses and Civil War and through to the modern era. The other part will focus on the building of the New City and its first 50 years.
PS - It's a great museum for photographers!!!
