Delightful
It is a very bright pink so I couldn't really fail to miss this little dahlia which has come into flower at the allotment. I was particularly excited to see it as it is something of a miracle that it has flowered. I planted some dahlia seeds quite late - probably June - and they grew crammed together in a pot on my patio, getting frequently dried out by the sunshine. They were looking lanky and yellow by July when I finally planted them into the allotment. With more space, soil and water they have grown and most are now in bud. The buds have appeared tightly shut whenever I looked, so I was thrilled to see this one had come into flower on my visit this morning.
Aside from dahlia delights, I picked enough blackberries and apples to make another batch of jam and some more patty pan squash - a different variety to the big pale green ones I blipped a week or so ago. These ones are smaller and bright yellow. I also picked my first butternut squash. I've plenty more of those coming and the swiss chard is still going strong. Spaced out my red kale too.
