Whitby

We took the North York Moors Railway from Pickering to Whitby. The scenery is simply stunning as the train climbs through the forests to the moors and then the Esk valley to the sea. We had a wander round the old town including along Henrietta Street to Fortune's and then past the fish docks and up to the Quarterdeck. Another opportunity to show Cal somewhere I've worked - in 1981!

The image shows a boat promising a "Captain Cook Experience" returning to harbour. For £3.50 it offers a 25 minute cruise though for the full Captain Cook experience I'd have expected to sail halfway round the world and to be killed by Hawaiians - I guess that might cost more than three and a half quid.
