Highland Gathering
After the glorious sunshine of yesterday we have woken to a dull morning, very still and overcast which equals perfect midge weather!
Today is the busiest day of the tourist season on the island with the Highland Games taking place on an area called the Lump, in Portree. The Lump is a promontory of rock that sticks out into the bay and forms a natural amphitheatre, ideal for gatherings such as the Highland Games. In the blip you can make out the various tents and marquees which have been erected in preparation for the events today.
I hope the sun burns through the clouds later so that the poor tourists are not plagued by too many of the little biting devils!
